In this project, the owners had an design concept that they presented. The plan needed to be revised to better suit their needs and meet city codes. We added a new space for the kitchen, breakfast and family room as well as a new porch. The family wanted the addition that was true to their home, but created also created openness between the kitchen and living areas of more contemporary designs. They also wanted a better connection to their renovated back yard. The overall concept was to create an area that the family could be together in.
Additional items that were addressed on the first floor, were adding a mudroom and butler's pantry as well as a general cosmetic renovation of the rest of the first floor.
On the second floor a space for the master suite was added to re-organize the space in a better proportion than the original floor plan. As before, care was taken to keep this addition in character to the rest of the house.
