A Bit of History
Architectura was founded in 1986 by Greg Lorie and has been serving the Dallas and the Fort Worth Metroplex, as well as many other cities in Texas. We have also recently completed some commercial work in Colorado and Washington, DC.
You will probably know Architectura and Greg Lorie for the many years of service in the Lakewood Area and Preston Hollow communities of Dallas. And we have been featured in articles in the Lakewood Advocate and the Dallas Morning News.
My methodology with my clients is to view every project and every client on their own. Previous projects and experiences will guide me as to appropriate questions to ask and possible avenues to explore, but I look at every project on its own terms.
Initially I want to discuss with the client what concepts and spaces they are looking for out of their project. I also want to know how they are currently living and what is important to them in their lives. This is to try to get a feel for who my clients are and what they ultimately want with this change to their lives. Knowing what a client says both explicitively and implicitively are important in determining the best solution for the client.
I also am very conscious of my client's budget. Establishing on the first meeting what they intend on spending on a project we can direct our energies regarding the project they desire and the budget they have set. With the current market it is important to have an early check on the budget and how it will affect the design.
